Resources Young People will use
Young people will have access to using computers, iPads, History textbooks, worksheets and the internet.
Cardinal Winning learners will also use a variety of posters, diagrams, maps and resources to enhance learner experiences and to assemble evidence for their National courses.
Links with other partners/agencies
During this course young people may have the opportunity to visit local Museums and areas relating to Glasgow and its housing industry and areas targeted during the Blitz of 1940/41.
Course Outline
If you love History and learning more about battles, Wars in Europe and the wider world this course is for you!
- Young people will study the Second World War, 1939 -1945.
- Learners will learn how the war started, which countries and their leaders were involved in it, technologies that were used and we will look at major battles that took place on land, sea and in the air
In this subject, learners may achieve SQA National 1-4 full awards or units only, as appropriate.
Skills Developed through this Course
- Young people will have the opportunity to develop skills in using and gathering information, researching, investigating and evaluating.
- Young people will learn how to evaluate sources to detect bias, opinion and facts.
Progression Pathways
The History Department offer a range of SQA courses from National 1-4, as appropriate to the learner which can contribute to further learning in the Social Subjects (History, Modern Studies and Geography) at College level.
