Course Outline
If you love working with your hands and making things then this course is for you!
- Learners will use a variety of hand and power tools.
- Learners will make several projects by selecting a range of materials
- Learners will learn life skills such as using tools for Do It Yourself projects.
In this subject, learners may achieve SQA National 2-4 awards as appropriate.
Skills Developed through this Course
Young People will have the opportunity to develop and practise a range of skills required to develop life skills
- Organisational skills for making projects.
- Reading yechnical drawings / plans
- Applying finishes to wood.
Progression Pathways
The Technical Department offer a range of SQA courses from National 2-4, as appropriate to the learner.
Career routes after school would be future employment in furniture assembly or similar.
